Premise

Perpetual is one of the leading product innovation and web development companies in New York City. Previously, their primary source of clients was through in-house connections. After nearly 10 years, they revamped their website to increase client inquiries, better visibility, and other opportunities.

I joined their team during summer 2022. With this project, my role in the team was to give a complete overhaul to their case studies and revive their overall online presence through web and social media analysis, and SEO optimization.

Challenge

The Challenge

Perpetual's website had not been updated for 10 years. With this redesign of what was coined Project DaVinci, we aimed to launch the website while making it more accessible, and ensuring it's consistent with Perpetual's brand identity.

One of the challenges while making the case studies was gathering and restructuring the information from previous projects through different sources as it had not been compiled before.

Opportunity

Opportunity with Redesign

I created the content for most of the case studies from scratch with the help of my team which allowed me to explore, conceptualize and re-iterate. The agile work environment gave me the opportunity to lead the work section on the website where I also got to work on UX writing for the copy while designing the interface.

Going beyond design

While at Perpetual, I worked with a team of PMs, Product Designers, and Engineers to create over 25 case studies for their site and analyze and optimize the complete website post-launch to monitor new client inquiries and improve the company's visibility on various channels. This was to help their vision of being New York City’s best cross-functional digital product design and development agency come to life.

I wrote and created some blogs and social media posts which helps in gaining more backlinks and improve the SEO. Checkout some of the blogs I wrote on topics like Dark Patterns, Increase Conversions with Empathy in UX and Technology trends here

Based on the research and key insights gathered, the team redesigned some of the pages and introduced new features to address the pain points.

After the design, improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was vital to driving more client traffic to the website. I was primarily focusing on increasing organic traffic through On-page SEO, Technical SEO, Keyword optimization, and Off-page SEO post doing a full end-to-end SEO audit.

It feels great to see the positive results of my work and contribution. Here's a snippet of post-launch results:

Launched the responsive site and client experience

Improved Woorank ranking and SEO score of the site

Creation of an SEO Analysis system for the company's future projects

Increased domain rank and client inquiries post-launch

Takeaway

A breakdown of my experience

Working on this project equipped me with skills like Design Strategy, UX Writing, Design Systems Development, Client Management, Marketing, and more. But, it wasn't always easy to follow the feedback on time, knowing that I was learning many things on the job. Over the next few weeks, I started writing a journal and organizing my work and time consciously to declutter my mind and improve productivity.

Working at a design agency helped me to a great extent as I got to overcome all the challenges that came with working on multiple projects at the same time. The feedback process was faster as I was surrounded by experienced designers who are curious about constant changes and developments in the field of design and technology.

Enough said. Big Thanks to everyone at Perpetual for helping me accomplish this!
